The World's Highest-Paid DJs 2019 by Forbes; No women since 2012

The Chainsmokers, Marshmello and Calvin Harris are ranked. Unfortunately on the 2019 list women once again were not present.

Pair of DJs Chainsmokers (Drew Taggart and Alex Pall) top the ranking with $ 46 million in pre-tax earnings;
Calvin Harris loses the highest paid DJ post in the world after six consecutive years at the top of the list;

DJ Steve Aoki, who has reached 200 performances during the reporting period, has sponsorship deals with brands such as Diesel and Samsung, as well as various ventures and has amassed $ 30 million;

The top 17 artists together total $ 358 million, of which $ 272 million is attributed only to the first ten names on the list; To see the full list, visit the Forbes .

Despite occupying the second position of the ranking, Marshmello is highlighted for almost double its gains compared to the 2018 survey.
Under electrifying disco globes, Marshmello climbed into the bright 360-degree DJ booth with his iconic cylindrical mask. His prop immediately lit up in rainbow colors, reflecting multicolored laser beams and special effects scattered throughout the 29,000-square-foot nightclub. It was this scene last April that kicked off DJ work at Kaos Dayclub and Nightclub at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, part of a $ 60 million super deal.

Although there are a number of rising female DJs as Aoki suggested, there are no women on this year's list. In fact, since Forbes began tracking DJs in 2012, not a single female act has appeared in the rankings. Some came close, such as the Nervo sisters in 2014; Alison Wonderland got a few million this year.

Female what? That's right, DJs. Women are starting to flourish in a highly saturated, male-associated industry, proving they can make it. We are seeing growth every year, especially in the Techno scene with Nina Kraviz, Amelie Lens, Charlotte De Vitte, among others. Some are even among the women who played the most festivals in 2018 according to the Festicket. By 2020 we already have strong candidates to be in this ranking.

Equality issue in entertainment

Taylor Swift and Kylie Jenner may be the highest paid celebrities in the world, but only 16 women were on the top 100 list.
